At your first visit, we will give you
and/or your child a tour of the office. Dr. Goins-Crank will
perform a complimentary initial exam to determine if the prospective
patient can benefit from orthodontic treatment and assesses his/her
orthodontic needs. An initial exam usually lasts about 30 minutes.
If you're ready for treatment, a comprehensive
exam will be necessary. This exam may be scheduled at the time of
the initial exam or at a later date. At the comprehensive exam we
take photographs, special x-rays, and molds of your teeth. An initial
fee is due the day of the comprehensive exam. This comprehensive exam
requires about one hour. The fee for the comprehensive exam is credited
towards the total treatment fee and is not an additional charge.
Soon after the comprehensive exam,
Dr. Goins-Crank will study the records and x-rays and determine
the best course of treatment. Usually this is done within 2 weeks
after your visit. When the treatment plan is completed Dr. Goins-Crank
will meet with you and your child to discuss the recommended treatment.
At that meeting she will discuss all the details of the required treatment,
including the length of treatment and the fees. Dr. Goins-Crank participates
in many insurance plans and will accept assignment from your primary insurance
provider. Be sure to review our different payment plans on the Payment
Plans page.
